Assistant Operations Manager – Night Shift


Lynas Foodservice Limited, a leading food distribution company in Northern Ireland, Scotland and ROI wish to recruit an Assistant Operations Manager to our team.

The Role –

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Operations Manager to assist in the management and co-ordination of our night time operation in our Coleraine Distribution Centre. You will implement production, productivity, quality and customer service standards and achieve the appropriate throughput within pre-determined time limits.

Ultimately, you should be able to ensure that nightly operations are not only met but exceed our daily performance expectations & help to increase the company’s overall service level.

Key Responsibilities –

  • Manage Operational KPI reports & information.
  • Managing around 60+ staff.
  • Ensure that all orders are picked, checked, packed and loaded correctly, efficiently and safely to depot fleet in accordance to the vehicle despatch timetable
  • Manage the deployment of staff into other areas if the night shift department workload changes
  • To conduct disciplinaries as necessary in line with Company disciplinary policy.
  • To manage sickness absence and time keeping of the shift in line with Company policy to help maximise the efficiency of the shift.
  • To be able to infill as necessary e.g. pick, check and pack orders as required.
  • To carry out random checks of picks to ensure the Pickers are performing their duties accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage the general housekeeping of the Warehouse on a daily basis.
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee’s performance.
  • Communicate job expectations and coach employees.
  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices.
  • Ensure health and safety rules and regulations are adhered to.

Requirements –

  • Previous experience working in a FMCG warehouse.
  • Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques.
  • Ability to input, retrieve and analyse data.
  • Hands on commitment to getting the job done.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to direct and co-ordinate operations.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
