Legal & Risk Executive (12-month Maternity Cover Contract)

Reporting to: Head of Credit & Risk    Hours of Work: Full -time 9am-5:30pm Monday to Friday

Salary: £16,000-£20,000 + Bonus – Dependant upon experience.

Lynas Foodservice is a top 100 NI company and the largest independent Foodservice Company in Ireland; we are currently recruiting for a Law Graduate for a 12-month contract where they will be autonomous in managing the risk and litigation processes:


“The Legal & Risk Executive is responsible for the end-to-end management of all aspects of the accounts assigned to them including overseeing all aspects of Northern Ireland Small Claims, European Small Claims in Republic of Ireland including pre-sue analysis and enforcement action.  The Legal & Risk Executive is also responsible for drafting legal contracts and for all underwriting and credit vetting of new account applications ensuring best practice is applied to all applications equally.”

This is a fantastic opportunity for a law graduate or experienced Credit Professional with legal/litigation experience to join a growing company and practice all aspects of commercial debt recovery while acquiring new skills as a Risk Underwriter.  The successful candidate will autonomously manage all unpaid accounts from end to end, including query/dispute management/settlement, issuing of legal proceedings and tracing of this through to enforcement and write off if necessary.


Essential Criteria

  • Law graduate with a minimum of 1 years’ experience working in a busy office environment, other degrees are acceptable where a major focus was on law
    • or Credit Professional with 5 years Credit Management experience where extensive focus of the role was on litigation
  • Excellent administrative and customer service skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Must be a self-starter and target driven
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office

Desired Criteria

  • Litigation experience working in or managing legal/debt accounts
  • Proven track record in making commercially minded decisions
  • Previous experience in visiting customers off-site would be advantageous
  • Membership of a professional body (IPLS/CICM) preferred
