Head of Transport - Lynas Foodservice
Location: Coleraine, Northern Ireland
Hours: 40hrs p/week — Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm
Candidates must flexible with regard to hours of work to meet the needs of the business

Pay: £40-50k dependant on experience
Lynas Foodservice are recruiting a Transport Manager for their Northern Ireland Operation. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Operations & Transport and should demonstrate at least 5 years Transport Management experience in the 3PL or FMCG distribution sectors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, execution, direction and coordination of all transport matters within the Northern Ireland division. This includes ensuring legal compliance across the fleet, managing budgets, organising schedules and routes, ensuring that all vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements.
The successful candidate will be required to manage the transport team effectively. Daily duties will include but not be limited to:
Act as a liaison to Senior Management and Directors
Manage KPI reports, ensuring key performance indicators are in place and production targets are achieved
Manage a team of 108 employees providing a leadership support function to teams and motivating staff to carry out their duties to an optimum
Partner with the HR team to ensure employee Relations cases - Investigation, Disciplinary, Grievance and Performance are completed in a timely and fair manner.
Manage employee performance both high and low performers.
Partner with HR to ensure absence & time keeping are managed in an effective and consistent manner.
Ensure that communication between departments is ongoing and utilised to maintain an environment of continuous improvement
Collaborate effectively with support function departments such as HR & Payroll
Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence, CPC Qualified.
Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a similar environment (preferably food service and /or multi drop).
Excellent working knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft Office Applications (particularly MS Excel).
Excellent geographical knowledge of Northern Ireland.
High level of attention to detail, self-management, drive and discipline.
Ability to build rapport and manage relations between Transport and other departments within the business – as well as externally with customers and partner organisations.
