Eat Out To Help Out - What Does This Mean For You & Your Business

People who dine out from Monday to Wednesday in Northern Ireland and Scotland during August will get 50 per cent off the price of their meals and non-alcoholic drinks up to the value of £10 per person in eligible cafes, pubs and restaurants

Capped at £10 off per person, per meal, it will apply on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout August.

This means a family of four can save £40 on a meal worth £80 with the rest of the bill being picked up by the UK Government

Your customers can use the discount as many times and in as many participating pubs, restaurants and cafes as they want.

Service charge will be excluded from the discount and it will not apply to takeaways, but it can be used on top of any other vouchers your customer may already have.

If your foodservice business is participating the discount must be applied across your entire menu.

Announcing the scheme, Chancellor Rishi Sunak said: “Each week in August, businesses can then claim the money back, with the funds in their bank account within five working days.”
